Your Children are Watching

Our children need an example to follow.  As parents, we have the opportunity to have the greatest impact on them and receive the greatest blessing. Whether you realize it or not, they are watching you and learning from your every move.

Be the example for your children to follow!

The  truth we  must realize as  parents is there are many examples, or influences, competing for your children’s attention. Many of these examples influencing your family are not what you would consider the best for your children. In fact, you may not agree with most of them.  With your intentionality, you can become the example they desire to copy. In fact, family is meant to be the biggest influence for your children, and you do influence them, whether you know it or not. Regardless of the many contradicting examples, you and the way you live your life matter to your children.

To counter the culture and conquer the chaos in your home, decide today to be a good example of how to live out God’s abundance with peace and joy.

Become an intentional example for your children.  Start today taking small steps toward living a life that your children can follow.  Here are some starters:

  • Eliminate the attitude of ‘do as I say, not as I do.’ Jesus never taught this commonly considered notion.

  • Demonstrate the golden rule with your spouse, children, and even those with whom you interact outside of your family. It is a biblical principle.

  • Examine your lifestyle. Are there areas you would not like your children to copy?

“Do to others whatever you would like them to do to you. This is the essence of all that is taught in the law and the prophets.”(Matthew 7:12NLT)

Make a fresh start. Regardless of the form of your family, you can be a great example for your children to follow. Most  importantly, your  family needs you to be strong and courageous and once again  seek the  most  adventurous life. Do not  focus  on the  past; look fully into your present and your future. God is not just a redeemer—He is your redeemer.

This is a perfect time of year for a fresh start as the Easter Season commemorates the biggest fresh start of all time!  Jesus’ resurrection provides the victory for your family to walk into fullness, and as you begin to follow His example, you children will begin to see a more excellent way and your family will be transformed.  Believe it!
