Conquer the Chaos
As the new school year commences, your chaotic schedule may seem to be overwhelming. There is a pressure in your home that just keeps things out of control. The day-to-day storms of doctor appointments, football practice, and missing homework are relentless. When the daily struggle to balance work, family and budgets collides; chaos ensues. If your family is experiencing the back-to-school upheaval, this verse may offer hope:
If people can’t see what God is doing,
they stumble all over themselves;
But when they attend to what he reveals,
they are most blessed.
(Proverbs 29:18 MSG)
Consider the real source of the chaos. The people, or families, can’t see what God is doing. Take heart, God does not go on vacation when the school year rolls around. He is in your midst. Be encouraged, you can conquer the chaos. Chaos is the outcome of a family who lacks vision. However, God desires to replace the chaos with peace and joy.
God gives us the deep need for purpose and vision to save us from the chaos. Vision will conquer the chaos and fill you and your children with significance and purpose. You will receive the desires of your heart because God will give you the desires of His heart to seek after.
Take delight in the Lord, and he will
give you the desires of your heart.
(Psalm 37:4 NIV)
As you receive the vision God has for your family, peace and joy will replace the chaos. What is peace and joy? A simple definition looks like this: A tranquility of soul where fear no longer rules (peace) and where supernatural cheerfulness and a calm delight result in a thankful heart (joy). Where there is peace there is an absence of fear and where there is a calm delight and cheerfulness you will find joy. Remember and believe you are a child of God, set apart and He is contending for you to live the life He created you to live.
Peace and joy may not seem to be ‘power’ words, but they are powerful. God gave every one of His creations a divine purpose. God’s purpose cannot be accomplished without divine help—only through Him, supernaturally. This divine help comes from the Holy Spirit who is the giver of the gifts of peace and joy.
As the chaos is defeated, peace and joy will begin to fill your home. Believe this truth. We are not painting a fairytale picture here and we know that there will still be struggles for your family; but as peace and joy overcome the chaos, the circumstances will not subjugate your overall tranquility. The peace of God will prevail.
Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness,
everything coming together for good,
will come and settle you down.
It’s wonderful what happens when Christ
displaces worry at the center of your life.
(Philippians 4:7 MSG)
God created you to desire vision, purpose, and significance. God knew chaos would be present as families fell prey to the lies of this world; that is why He put these desires in our heart-- to give us the tools to conquer the chaos.
C2Family believes that conquering the chaos can be achieved by seeking God’s greater purpose for your family. As you begin to see what God is doing in and through your family, peace and joy will replace the chaos. And even though the relentless borage of the fall schedule may not clear out; you will be calm in the midst of the storm. Consider adding one more thing to your schedule, an evening of seeking God’s vision and join us for a VisionQuest in October. You will be glad you did!
